THE NIGHTMARE-chapter 11CHAPTER 11 death's stench
"Right, it's time. ", commanded a determined wolf.
"Ok let's go." replied another, happy to obliged.
The sky felt warm in the colours it projected overhead but the wind felt cold with the winds it blew through the trees. The ground was hard under their feet but the water was soft as some of them walked along its bank as they made their way around. The sound which their footsteps made was almost silent but the power it had was enough to make anyone freeze with fear. The three of them marched on toward their destination which is only about a mile away now. This seems like a long distance but it's nothing when you're moving so fast. As they approached each tree is seemed to shake with fear of them. But what is fear of them that made the trees quiver? Or was it the fear for what will happen if they advance any closer? Only time can reveal.
As they draw nearer the sky seems to grow weak
THE NIGHTMARE - chapter 10CHAPTER 10 panicky pack
Zero froze in motion, his eyes angry. Kumai's blood trickles down his neck and reaches the ground creating a small puddle of deep red. His neck is struggling to withstand the tension. Like the ground Zero's teeth are stained by his rival's blood as he introduces him to death. Zero gets all the more angry all of a sudden and pulls hard of the fragile piece of flesh which he brutally grasped in his jaws.
"No! No don't!", Pasha screamed out.
She jolted forward and her eyes cried some more. Her heavy tears fell from her frightened face. Zero stopped for an instance to look into her emotional eyes. Then he glared down at Kumai's slowly opening eyes. Zero lifts his head more pushing Kumai's neck to its limit. Pasha takes a few more steps forward. Zero closes his eyes with remorse and harshly releases his jaws. Kumai hits the ground with a thump. As he did so his eyes burst open. He rolled over, through his o
THE NIGHTMARE - chapter 9CHAPTER 9 conflict creeps
About 2 miles away, Arrow reaches familiar ground and stops. He hears something familiar also, the sound of his pack returning. He was hoping they wouldn't be back as he instructed Mayra to continue the hunt without him but yet here they are. His injuries are fresh yet they've decreased in size dramatically. The eight scratches on his back are still visible but look like they've been healing for a good week. Arrow wonders whether he should turn and come back the following morning so he can sneak in the cave whilst they're still sleeping. But then he comes to realise he's upwind so the pack may already be aware of his whereabouts.
Mayra takes Arrow's position above the cave temporarily while he's away. The pack can sense something wrong. The smell of blood lingers around them. They worry, it's Arrow's. The Pack turn one by one without a sound and anxiously wait. Slowly Arrow walks forward emerging from the thick foliag
THE NIGHTMARE- chapter 8CHAPTER 8 the first defining fight
Deep in the forest .
It's a cold, eerie, dusk and the sun has virtually sunk into the horizon. The tall fir trees get louder as the night draws closer. His heart races, his breathing increases, his body tense. He braces himself for the rage; that in a matter of seconds will posses him. Zero thinks he's ready, ready for the impact. He watches the sun like a fox in front of an ongoing car's headlights. As soon as he caught sight of the moon his pupils grow small with terror. Before he knew it he felt a serge evil coursing through his veins infecting his blood. He curls up with the intensity and force of his rage, hopelessly trying to tame it. There is no success. His claws dig into the soil below him. His eyes are closed tight, his head facing the ground that he has punctured below him. The pain is unbearable. A head ache bubbles in his brain. He tries so hard not to cry out. The hairs on his back stand up
THE NIGHTMARE-chapter 7CHAPTER 7 woeful wait
He heads into the cave and sees Pasha lying there so peaceful. Suddenly she's covered in ferocious cuts all over her body seeping with blood. And the tongue in her mouth hangs low, lifeless as she does. Zero feels something warm sliding down his chin. It hits the floor with a pat. He looks at the dot of red on the floor. He starts to panic. His whole mouth tastes of blood. His paws and claws are covered in the stuff. He gasps. Then looks at Pasha then at his life taking paws. He falls back to a sit with the shock still looking at the paws. But then it died. Pasha is fine just sleeping, dreaming so content. Zero's heavy breathing subsided, relieved that it was all a figure of his wild side. He stands and just watches her sleep.
"She sooths my aggressive side."Zero thought to himself. Unsure of Arrows accuracy.
"I wonder." Whispers Zero.
Zero turns and exits the cave out into the moon lig
THE NIGHTMARE-chapter 6CHAPTER 6 a terrifying truth
Many days passed and everything was going right, for now. It was a pleasantly calm sunset and everyone was chilling out in the sun kissed forest. The whole pack seems more relaxed now. And Zero was no longer getting any grief from Kumai thanks to Arrow putting him in his place. Zero and Pasha even showed more affection toward each other in front of the pack. Everyone was engaging in their own conversations. Pasha and Zero engages in a convocation of their own, including some harmless flirting. Arrow claimed Zero's place as his own again. From this point he saw this 'harmless flirting'. He gave a concerned look at them. They didn't see this as he didn't intend it to be seen.
Later that night when all was quiet Zero left the main cave as he was thirsty. Arrow is watching him from Zero's place. Zero was unaware of this. The breeze was almost non-existent tonight; the grass felt cool as so did the night. Zero walks to
THE NIGHTMARE: chapter 5CHAPTER 5 "I belong with you"
The pair steadily wadded through the grass and round the lake which danced with the moon light. They got to his den which over looked the clearing where they stayed during the day. Zero lead Pasha to it's opening. They sat there for a few minutes and just exchanged glances. Zero wanted to ask her what was up but felt better for her to tell him on her own accord. Pasha turns away to face the wind. She breaths in the cool air, which generally pushed back her ears so they flap in the breeze, then let out a sigh. Not one of content but of sorrow. He decided to give her some time to herself. Pasha watches him leave and follows him in. They didn't go in the cave to far but far enough that they couldn't be seen. Yet they could still see the light glowing from the moon. Zero turns to face the light in the depth of the cave and set down to go to sleep. Pasha lay alongside him pressing her muzzle against his head so she could feel him close
